Woke up after eight hours plus sleep. Lazed the morning away.

They had a wee tea for me.

We headed up to the town of Pemberton for breakfast. We went in to The Pony.

 

It was a fine place.

 

On the way back to Whistler we stopped off at Narin Falls and took the hike in.

 

 The falls were loud and fast.






The lower falls were great too.


A lone flower hung on to the edge.


I liked it in here. We made the hike back out the way we came in.

 

Back into Whistler and walked around. Watched some of the practice runs on the slope.

 

Went in to the "Dubh Linn Gate" for lunch. http://www.dubhlinngate.com/

A fun place.

 

Into the Jeep and back to the Fairmont.

 Went down to the pool for a swim. Then into the hot tub for a bit. Back into the pool for some laps. Back to 339 for a wee relax. 

Later on we headed down to the village to see the concerts. First we saw "Slackstring" http://www.slackstring.com/ .

 

 Then we headed down to the "Mongolie Grill" for dinner http://www.mongoliegrill.com/ .

 

 I don't really like this place but the good woman likes it so we eat here.

 

Back up to the concert. Now the band "Wassabi Collective" were on stage. http://www.wassabi.net/

 

 They played up until the start of the Volkswagen Biker X event. We walked around watched the competition for a while. 
























Then back to the Chateau. Got a email from my friend Kristin saying she had indeed made her way into Whistler to meet me. Feck for not having my phone. We probably passed each other in town. Feck! I will have to go back and see if she is in the crowd photos.

 

As the world was ripping into Harry Potter books Tammy Faye laid dying. She died a little bit ago aged 65.

 

Watched "Night At The Museum" on the ole computer.

Up early and over to Starbucks for a spot o tea and a scone. Off we head for the border.

We cross at the Peace Arch.

 

 Pretty much no traffic so straight through.

We stop off at the Totem Poles and walk around a wee bit.

 We cross over the Lions Gate bridge and up towards Whistler. 


We stop off in Squamish for lunch. We stopped off here the last time we were up too. We went to "The White Spot" for lunch.

Had my first ever Cadbury's peanut butter bar.

 

Might be something to do with the Irish.

 

We made our way up the familiar Sea to Sky highway which was not so familar anymore as they are turning this little windy road into a two lane highway each way. They are doing it for the 2010 Olympics.

We walked into town. Cross over the river on our way.


Strolled throughout the village. An Irish woman came up and asked us for directions out of the town. She was from County Meath. I set her on her way.

 

We went into the Olympics visitor center.





Then back up through town.






Into The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. 


Walked by the mountain on the way back. They are all set up for the festival "Crankworks" tomorrow. http://www.crankworx.com/

 We pass by the Irish pub on the way back to the Fairmont.
